The Nation is safe

With the US President visiting London at the moment security measures have been stepped-up all over the city. Yesterday morning I was at Westminster tube station waiting for my Jubilee line train where there were a group of specialised police security experts patrolling the platform. Three burley officers with stern bulldog-like faces, including the WPC were moving in tight formation, the lead officer was clutching a leash at the end of which tugged … an overeager cocker spaniel! As this formidable team approached I started to smirk at this rather ridiculous sight. The WPC turned to me with a smile and said “everyone is impressed with our dog”. All I could say was “Those terrorists will be sorry they took on the English”.

You are really good at writing, why don’t you try your luck and contact a major newspaper? The would love you. You have a great style, very fluent in vocabulary, witty and with an amazing sense of humour.
