Tsunami

Path of the TsunamiAs we are about to herald in 2005 the world is still in shock at the magnitude of suffering generated by the recent Tsunami in Asia. I don’t think there are any platitudes that I can offer the people of Asia that really have any meaning at such a time. Its good to see so many people across so many continents organising themselves to help as much as they possibly can, although I am a little perplexed as I’m sure many other people are by the silence of many major governments and leaders. I hope this statement proves to be incorrect very shortly but at this time the US government has pledged a mere $35 million towards the relief which is dwarfed by the current total pledged by the British people of ?25 million. So come on America! Call yourselves the leaders of the free world? Lets see some leadership.
