Conspiracy or not?

Some may think me a bit paranoid to suggest that the government may be fanning the flames of fear as regards the terrorist threat. Maybe I should explain that I’m not suggesting that there is a conspiracy afoot, although they may be some conspirators abroad in all this mêlée somewhere or other. More a web of self-interest, some utterly blind “doing the right thing” sentiments all washed down with a stiff dose of money (and quite a lot of it if you have shares in an oil company or two). Islands of conspiracy maybe, but that’s all I’ll grant.

Light from an empty fridge has a witty article on what he thinks are the thought processes that lead to a bogus war on terror and draws parallels with those gormless “brain storming” sessions that middle-management (scourge of the planet) love to indulge in just prior to enforcing their will without listening to a word anyone else says.
