Its hot in the city

Its yet another hot sunny day in London. As I made my way over to the local market to get some Sea Bass I passed young Mothers by their score basking in the sun and playing with their young children. It seems like this uncharacteristic warm English weather is going to go on for ever. It was never this warm when I was a boy, I recall long summer holidays spent playing inside building ever more ingenious contraptions with my mechano set, longing for the sun to make an entrance so that I could go to the beach and swim in the sea or simply play something more energetic in the garden. The weather has changed for good, I can see that. I think in started this pattern in 1995, that was the first London “swelterer” of many to follow and while it may be great for little boys who want to go outside and play I fear that it may be a high price to pay in the end. In the meantime; enjoy the weather - while it lasts.
