Winter warning

The Met Office are predicting an exceptionally cold winter this year, maybe one as cold as those in the early ’60s. But before you all scoff at the suggestion, quoting now infamous storm denials that later ravaged southern England, you should realise that since then they have acquired systems of stunning accuracy which while not 100% accurate should most certainly be heeded. The prediction of an unusually cold but also dry winter coinciding with unusually high fuel costs and even the possibility of the arrival of avian flu is already being labelled a “winter of discontent” for New Labour, while I can see many parallels; high inflation, political unrest and a new ascent in the opposition party. Somehow I think its going to be very different. But whatever happens, wrap up warm and be careful out there.
