Oh Happy Hour

Wolfie — November 28, 2005, 1:10 pm

So we got through our first weekend of extended drinking-hour legislation and the country didn’t collapse. I made my way to work this morning and didn’t have to step over a single drunk lying in the gutter after a weekend of unbridled bacchanalian debauchery. I’m not really surprised and neither are 99.9% of the rest [...]

Digital Photo Overload

Wolfie — November 21, 2005, 4:28 pm

I have finally decided that its time to sign up to flickr for the online storage and presentation of my digital photos. It seemed the only logical conclusion when faced with the fact that it was nearly 800 digital images since I last posted any photos on my site. The main considerations were :
1) Uploading [...]

MTV Awards

Wolfie — November 18, 2005, 12:07 pm

I was having some problems with my computer so last night I dedicated some time to getting to the bottom of things and setting it straight. With lots of tedious rebooting to do it seemed natural to put on some vacuous T.V. to while away the time and what better could there be than the [...]

Aids Miracle

Wolfie — November 13, 2005, 12:47 pm

Mad Laws and Englishmen

Wolfie — November 10, 2005, 11:48 pm

There is an excellent story on The Londonist regarding The Sun’s inappropriate use of a 7/7 victim in its obsequious fawning over Mr. Blair and their miscalculated support of his attempt to turn the United Kingdom into a police state. One does wonder how he could have thought that he would win such a preposterous, [...]

Death of a router

Wolfie — November 8, 2005, 10:10 am

Much to my dismay this Sunday morning my wireless ADSL router from 3Com (3CRWE754G72-A) died. That’s right, no lights, no action, just a beige plastic paperweight. Not the most poignant of moments in a man’s life you may be thinking but I am irritated as I have only had the unit for fifteen months and [...]

Riot

Wolfie — November 4, 2005, 7:21 pm

At the end of last month we had riots in Birmingham involving pitched battle between the Asian and Afro-Caribbean communities culminating in death.
Now some suburbs of Paris are burning as Immigrant communities there take to the streets in riot.
The questions are :
1) Is there a connection between the two events?
2) Is this a taste of [...]
