Mad Laws and Englishmen

There is an excellent story on The Londonist regarding The Sun’s inappropriate use of a 7/7 victim in its obsequious fawning over Mr. Blair and their miscalculated support of his attempt to turn the United Kingdom into a police state. One does wonder how he could have thought that he would win such a preposterous, pointless and heavy-handed bill. Is it that he has delusions of absolute power or that he is loosing his marbles in a fashion similar to that of the last days of Lady Thatcher’s reign? Somehow I think not but rather I suspect that “Sir has fallen upon his sword” in attempt to leave power as fast as possible or to herald in someone who will carry on his work. I mean just look at him, he’s knackered.
