Digital Photo Overload

Wolfie — November 21, 2005, 4:28 pm

I have finally decided that its time to sign up to flickr for the online storage and presentation of my digital photos. It seemed the only logical conclusion when faced with the fact that it was nearly 800 digital images since I last posted any photos on my site. The main considerations were :

1) Uploading photos and building custom web pages just takes far too long, especially if you were foolish enough to buy FrontPage (as I was).

2) I am swiftly running out of space on my server and the problem is going to get worse when I eventually get a new digital camera.

3) The complexity of publishing means that I’m always behind with them, and I really have got better things to do - like play with Helena.

4) Thanks to the flickr API and Wordpress I can integrate my flickr photos with my blog.

5) You can even post comments to the photos, rather like this blog, and I can add descriptions as and when I can from any networked computer.

I’ve made a start with our wedding photos…
