Oh Happy Hour

So we got through our first weekend of extended drinking-hour legislation and the country didn’t collapse. I made my way to work this morning and didn’t have to step over a single drunk lying in the gutter after a weekend of unbridled bacchanalian debauchery. I’m not really surprised and neither are 99.9% of the rest of Britains, only those nannying idiots in parliament seemed to think it would end in tears. Mind you, you would have to search quite hard to find a public house that had even extended its hours by more than an hour or two and that’s most likely the way its going to stay.
