Elizabeth IIHappy Birthday. This is from one of may favourite portraits of her, its flattering and shows her at her best but also brings back childhood memories for me. Better than a President any day.

I do knock them but your picture stirs something from my youth. I enjoyed my last street party at the silver jubilee. Isn’t it a shame that our patriotism is now so missplaced. Mind you that is the media and the disgusting antics of government. I do however respect Charles and think that he would make a fantastic King. Granted he would still be a figurehead but if you cut through the media bullshit he has so much to say of relevance.

Charles is a Dhimmi of awesome proportions - he would be more likely to have an Imam conduct the service than the Archbishop of Canterbury. Though he isnt much better than an Imam nowadays come to think of it.

Queenie abdicated her rights the moment she gave Royal Assent to the Maastricht Treaty and handed parliamentary soveriegnty to Brussels. She failed in her duty to her country and she is undeserving of respect or praise forthwith.

The institution of the Monarchy I respect, the person I do not.

Fair comment on Charles but I think its unlikely he will ascend to the throne now.

I think the Queen sees herself as a constitutional monarch who cannot stand in the way of a decision made by a democratically elected government, there was a referendum on Europe, the people and parliament had spoken. How could she have even blocked the move without causing a constitutional crisis? I don’t think she is happy about it any more than you or I.

Well I was talking about the Maastricht Treaty rather than the Treaty of Rome and the totally illegitimate referendum during which our manifold laws on Referenda were broken into tiny pieces, but still…firstly the ‘democratically elected government’ argument leads to all sorts of dodgy questions - if we follow that line of argument then legitimately you or I have no right to question Blair’s totalitarian moves like the Civil Contingencies Bill or the Legislative Reform Bill etc etc even though these abrogate our Constitution just as Maastricht did. And I think we not only have the right, but the duty.

Agreed. The Monarch may have her hands constitutionally tied but we are free citizens who need to make a stand, I suspect if the people made enough of a noise she would lend her support but really its up to us if we want to halt this slide into dictatorship. We would need to find some way to inspire the sheeple, you know out there a lot of people think he’s doing a grand job.
