Thanks to the americans who always think anything that happens in this world as “Terror”..
But why?
Having travelled a fair bit I have observed that there is a cultural linguistics of expectation.
In America if you ask someone what they thought of a particular tourist attraction they may say “Really Cool”, which translates to mildly interesting.
The English take the converse line of reasoning to the extent that is one’s own death is “inconvenient” and Armageddon is “rather inconvenient”.
Caveat : For Guardian readers everything is “a tragedy unfolding”
