That Aleksey Vayner Video

In case you missed it there is a video doing the rounds, it was on YouTube but has been pulled for legal reasons, which was used as a video resume by a Yale student in an application to UBS. For those who don’t work in finance its an astonishing window into a world of monster egos but there is a darker side to working with these self-obsessed obsessive-compulsives which has always made me wonder why the Investment Banks hire these pathetic individuals. Aside from their sociopathological tendencies there is their dubious grasp of the truth (common in such characters) in the pursuit of their self-promotion. It seems that this fellow has been indulging in a little harmless over-zealous self-promotion and extended the truth about his charitable works, fair enough but I have seen many such characters take things much further into the realms of fraud under pressure. The finance industry is getting enough flack over investment scandals and the last thing they need is these unstable characters. When will they learn.

In my view a real man displays a little more humility.
