Royal Trivia
Well the newspapers are buzzing with speculation over the causes of the break-up of the Royal William and Kate relationship, rather coyly side-stepping the issue of press intrusion on the couple as if it was nothing to do with them but some other paper that was responsible.
We bumped into Kate and Wills over dinner way back in 2005, just before their relationship was made public. I was of the opinion that she was a good catch for William but my wife (then my fiancée) disagreed, and to be honest I tend to listen to her on these matters because she has this amazing built-in bitch detector which never seems to fail in its accuracy. Apparently on a trip to the bathroom during the evening there was one of those “women sizing each other up”/”evil eye” moments between Miss Middleton and my somewhat amused wife, which seems quite bizarre considering she was clearly romantically involved with me and seven years her senior.
Overall, relationships for the under-thirties are hard enough without the press hounding you day and night and printing grossly inaccurate stories about you so I do have some sympathy for them both. To a certain degree I blame the French judiciary for this, if they had prosecuted the people responsible for hounding William’s Mother to an early grave the paparazzi might be a little more responsible today.
Now that’s amusing because I was of the same opinion as you about Kate but if your wife and her have enjoyed a silent women communication then your wife must be right. I know these moments when a glimpse is much more than a glimpse but an entire judgement of the woman facing you, it is like an evaluative look, sort of ‘are you the right person for the guy who is with you ?’ Women who do this thing are terrible not to say B…
Young women who follow such a mould are often expert manipulators of opinion within their peer group, which might explain some of the gossip which is reverberating around the press at the moment attributed to “close friends of Kate”.
Perhaps we should allow for the simple explanation that William has his head screwed on and knows exactly what he is doing.

Granted I had to waste a lot of my time with some rather undeserving women before I found my wife but such is the struggle of life.
