Dinner With Friends

Wolfie — October 6, 2008, 5:00 pm

Its been sometime since my wife did one of her infamous Paella evenings but its something that I always look forward to as seafood is a favourite of mine and when its homemade I have a perfect opportunity to indulge in a little gluttony.

I do help out in the kitchen but that’s mostly her show so I’m in charge of everything else, so that primarily means I’m the ambience and atmosphere controller. As any regular host would tell you, that’s the second most important ingredient. Dinner party music should be laid-back but never dip into the dull. Something funky, intriguing and most definitely foot-tapping should be in order to keep everyone alert and chatting, I generally find its the dance/world music remixes that go down best. Here’s something I prepared earlier, or sample the mix from the player below.

    @CherryPie

    You would come this far for a Paella?

    @JamesHigham

    Added to the feeling of self-importance it grants a man when someone else is doing most of the work.

    @Xoggoth

    I’m one of those music geeks who has the original albums.
