Bluetech : The Divine Invasion – A Review.
I first tuned-in to the creative work Evan Bartholomew (Bluetech) after his release of collaborative album Dreamtime Submersible (Steve Hillage, System 7). Fascinated by his intricate beat-scape of clearly classical, perhaps Bach inspired use of melody phasing in a modern Psybient context I awaited his next with some [...]

What with all the doom and gloom that pervades our lives at the moment it would be easy to capitulate and descend into a long winter mope and forget about Christmas altogether but I can’t see what that would achieve do you? Probably the best way to fight back against the misery is to lift [...]

Last night my wife and I attended the Music in Hospitals 60th Anniversary Royal Gala Concert at St John’s Smith Square. If you’re not familiar with this venue it is a church which has been converted into a classical concert venue in the heart of Westminster.
You would really have to be about my age or [...]

I had been meaning to visit Baden-Baden for a long time but when my wife recently pointed out that Ryanair had started direct flights from Stanstead to Karlsruhe Baden-Baden I could see an ideal opportunity had arisen.
Baden-Baden is a small historic spa town on the banks of the river Oos, located on the western foothills [...]

I find my ski breaks a most excellent catharsis for modern living. A weeks or so of fresh air, intense exercise and escape from the rhythm of your daily work and commute regime. Its funny how my wife always resists the trip from booking until about the third day, whereabouts she falls in love with [...]

Just back from a little winter break and good lord did I need it. Quite often you don’t realise how exhausted you’ve become until you stop your day to day routine.
International flights always have a bizarre selection of movies, usually a ghastly selection of American romantic comedies that are so bad they never even make [...]

Lately I’ve been going through a period which feels like I’m living to work. Working on a number of projects simultaneously, each of which is high-profile and of an urgent nature so I have been getting in early every morning and working late every evening in the hope that I can break their back. At [...]

Open-Air dance and electronica festival, Eastnor Castle Deer Park.
It was quite a long ride up to the Malvern hills, made all the harder by the long tail-backs of stationary traffic but thankfully with a motorbike I could make decent progress and made it to the site by six-thirty. Left the bike in the park, removed [...]

Guerrilla warfare analyst and blogger John Robb has his new book out and its a must read for those of you who are interested in understanding the mechanisms behind the rise in global terrorism, systems disruption and guerrilla warfare. The primary thrust of his thesis is that parallels can be drawn with the new model [...]

I watched Molly Dineen’s excellent documentary “The Lie of the Land” (C4 9:00pm Thursday) on the state of British farming in the aftermath of the ban on fox-hunting and the government’s “Single Payment” scheme this week.
Oddly enough this important issue gets little interest from the media even in the context of tackling climate change and [...]

Well the debate is raging over the C4 film “The Global Warming Swindle” and for the most part the program and the climate deniers are losing, big-time. You see this sort of program does have its value if it helps iron out a few kinks in the way that science is presented to the public [...]

First of all I’d like to make it clear that I am in no way attempting a rebuttal of this program, I have my criticisms but I also have my criticisms of the Global warming/Climate change movement too. Not necessarily because I think their conclusions are wrong but because I think the reasoning they used [...]
