Features :

Animated, Resizable, Scrollable, Opens default browser, Multi-feed (Max 6), Multilingual, Multi-Threaded, No runtime platform required.

Usage :

Mouse over top left to bring up RSS icon and right-click to access context menu. Select “Paste” to add URL of RSS feed from your copy buffer. Feed will not be used until restart or “Reload” is selected from the context menu. Last update date/time is then shown next to the feed title. Use the “Delete” sub-menu to remove feed item.

Right-click taskbar icon or News Reader border for configuration preferences panel.

Notes :

Only reads RSS feeds (no atom support yet).

If the feed link URL is not replaced with the feed title this indicates that the feed cannot be accessed.

If the feed publisher updates the pubDate on a feed item it will be considered a new item by the gadget and load it again. Cannot read feeds without pubDates, update times normalised to GMT.

X = Mark-as-read/Close Item.

Remember to set poll frequency from widget preferences.

Installation :

Download link.

Download the ZIP archive to your computer and extract the executable, place this in a permanent directory on your computer and double-click to launch. Add feeds and select re-load to activate them. The widget docks to the side of your screen but can be adjusted using your arrow keys. Set “Run automatically when Windows start” from the properties tab to launch automatically.

    Very informative article – adding this to RSS now! I also wondered, what wordpress template have you installed here? I would like to know if others can use it.
